Michael Whitmarsh is co-founder and managing partner of Lone Star Health & Fitness. He is an industry leader with over 20 years of experience in the fitness, health, and wellness arena. He attended Texas Christian University as a scholarship athlete where he lettered in track and field as a sprinter and hurdler while also completing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology. (Fun Fact: some of Michael’s track times from high school still hold as records!!) He holds various professional certifications such as Personal Trainer, Biomechanics, Health Promotion Director, Worksite Wellness, and Health Coach. Key highlights from his tenure include over 10,000 exercise prescription and personal training sessions (from beginner to advanced), facilitating numerous successful boot camps, client weight-loss success stories as well as design and implementation of fitness centers. Most recently, Michael has been instrumental in the deployment of an on-site wellness clinic. His leadership has led to numerous work place recognitions including Platinum Fit Friendly and Blue Zones Project approval to name a few. The American Heart Association (AHA) as well as the South West Benefits Association (SWBA) recognize the outstanding improvements being led by Michael and invited him to share these stories of accomplishment at conferences both on the local and national level. Michael previously served on the Arthritis Foundation Board (Jingle Bell Run) and is currently a member of the Fort Worth Bike Share Board of Directors. He enjoys spending time with his family and has a passion for all things fitness but has a special appreciation for outdoor sports like hiking, archery, fishing, boating and sporting clays.
